An Independent Evaluation of Aselo’s Impact
Aselo launched in 2021 with our first partner, ChildLine/LifeLine Zambia, and a clear mission: equip helplines with the technology they need to reach every child seeking support. Since then, we’ve grown to 23 helpline partners across 19 countries, supporting organizations working in child protection, suicide prevention, referral services, and victim support. Together, we’ve facilitated over one million contacts to helplines. And we’re just getting started.
In 2025, Tech Matters, with funding from Safe Online, commissioned an independent team of consultants to conduct the first-ever external evaluation of the Aselo platform. The most comprehensive assessment of our work to date, the evaluation examined Aselo from its earliest stages and focused on three core questions: Has Aselo improved the accessibility, responsiveness, and efficiency of helpline services? What operational benefits has it delivered? And how well-positioned is Aselo to scale, sustain itself, and advance broader industry learning on building technology for social impact?
We’re proud to share the findings. They affirm what our partners experience every day, and they point the way forward as we enter our next phase of growth. Our goal remains the same: make sure no call for help goes unanswered.
